The end of summer is always an exciting time, if for no other reason than that we can sometimes find things to take our minds off pens for a while! Of course, this is only a temporary relief, we're usually right back into the swing of collecting. The DC Supershow in August is a welcome reminder of just how diverse a group pen collectors are, with people from all over the world joining in.
For a look at just some of these pieces, take a look at "Maki-e Masterpieces" a visual tour through some of Danitrio's latest offerings. As you will see, the designs range from the simple through the sublime, with the quality of the artwork truly amazing. We've also gotten the chance to take a close look at some of the newest pens from S.T. Dupont. Not only interesting designs, but this company seems to have managed to hold on to the ability to deliver a first rate writing instrument as well as a collectable limited edition. It's nice to be able to have confidence in the ability of your new four figure limited edition to actually get down there and make marks on paper when you need it to. In this regard alone, you should be quite happy with the S.T. Dupont. The interesting designs are simply thrown in as extras! We've had to leave out the Vintage Pens column this issue, as you may have noticed, we're quite a bit behind on our production schedule! We're going to do our best to keep on a more regular schedule through the upcoming months, but as always, our priorities seem to get reshuffled on a regular basis. We'll do our best! As always, we're always looking for articles, pens vintage and modern, paper, ink, anything connected to the hobby of collecting pens in fact.
